About
October 9, 2006
This is just a blog.
A fairly random collection of thoughts, ideas, opinions and occasional rants. These are my personal views based on my understanding of Scripture and my life experiences.
Am I qualified to write on these topics? If you’re asking whether I have any relevant certificates, then no. But I can ‘blog’, as can you.
What’s my problem? If you’re asking whether I have a particular axe to grind, focus for my opinions or single-issue motivation for writing a blog, the answer is no. Of course I have experienced, read and heard things that influence what I write, and there are things I feel very strongly about.
Specifically, I have seen at close quarters how a church can be quickly dismantled by a combination of questionable teaching coupled with failure to check Scripture and call the leaders to account. I played my part in the former and failed to do the latter. If writing about my experiences helps someone in a similar situation, I thank God.
I am, like very many Christians, not currently part of an organised church. You may dismiss us from your minds, call us ‘back-sliders’ or berate us for failing to comply with Hebrews 10:25, but we are still here. Still believing, still praying, still studying.
And still seeking.
Anyway, back to the blog. I welcome comments. You can agree or disagree with what I write and your comments can be read by everyone else. I reserve the right to moderate your comments, but I don’t stifle debate. Feel free to add your thoughts and thank you for taking time to read my blog.
