Revival Watch
Another of my occasional posts on the revival that was supposed to sweep Wales in May of this year.
Has anyone seen it? Anything? Anything at all?
Remember – Darrel Stott prophecied it. In January he wrote on his website, “Revival will begin in Wales in May 2008″
Interestingly Darrel has now edited his prophecy on the website.
It now says, “I prophecy God will begin offer an outpouring revival in England and Wales in May 2008. It is up to the pastors and leadership to respond to this opportunity”
That last bit wasn’t there earlier in the year.
Nicely side-stepped Darrel. The revival hasn’t happened and it’s the fault of the Pastors. Of course.
You may be interested to know where Darrel is preaching this month. You may want to go and ask him why his prophecies fail to come true and whether that makes him a ‘false prophet’.
Book your flights. Darrel’s going to be preaching at the Ignited Church, in Lakeland Florida. Presumably filling some of the slots left vacant due to the unavailability of Todd Bentley. You couldn’t make it up.

Jesus Himself, after healing the 10 lepers, was only thanked by one of them (Luke 17:11-19). Instead of being surprised by ingratitude from others, we should learn to expect it.
If you move with God, you will be criticized. The only sure way to fend off criticism is to do nothing and be nothing. Those who do things inevitably stir up criticism.
Truth Prevails
But the Bible offers this great promise concerning criticism: the truth always outlives a lie. This fact is backed up by Proverbs 12:19, “The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.” Also, in Hebrews 13:6 we are told, “…that we may boldly say, ‘The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.’”
We should never judge a person by what is said of him by his enemies. Kenneth Tynan has provided the best description of a critic I have ever heard. “A critic,” he said, “is a man who knows the way but can’t drive the car.”
We Christians are not called to respond to criticism; we are called to respond to God. Often, criticism will present the best platform from which to proclaim the truth.
Most of the time people who are critical are either jealous or uninformed. They usually say things that have no impact whatsoever upon the truth.
There’s a famous anonymous saying that describes this situation perfectly: “It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while the wolf remains of a different opinion.”
If what you say and do is of God, it will not make any difference if every person on the face of the earth stands up and criticizes. Likewise, if it is not of God, nothing other people say will make it right.
Pay no attention to negative criticism. “Trust in the Lord, and do good…” (Ps. 37:3), knowing that in the end what you do in the Lord will be rewarded.
Of all the people who came down heavily on me when I was exposing the last “great move of God” that began in Toronto, Darrell Stott was one of the most vitriolic, unpleasant, deceitful and bitter that I ever had the displeasure of corresponding with. He left a taste in my mouth for years that even now hasn’t gone, hence my comment. And I’m not given to holding grusdges.
If Revival does not come to the UK in 2008, Darrel is a false
prophet – the Bible says so (Deuteronomy 18:20-22).
“Prophets” can share a hunch or hope as a personal view or opinion, but once they bring the Almighty into it with a “Thus saith the Lord”, it moves the pronouncement into a different league. Jesus said we should beware of false prophets and we will know them “By their fruits”. The “fruit” of the prophet is what he prophesies in the Name of the Lord, claiming inspiration (Matthew 7:15).
So many websites are urging us to pray for Todd and his family, and no one can argue with that. But what about the
thousands of Charismatics and Pentecostals who were told by their leaders that Lakeland would herald a world-wide revival. Those stories about visiting the departed dead in the Third Heaven, Emma the lady financial angel, healing angels, and all that stuff, it doesn’t matter. I have heard things like “Doctrine? What does doctrine matter as long as the people are blessed?”. How many members of churches, from all over the globe, feel deceived and deluded. Where was the discerment among the leaders, the shepherds of God’s people?
I was at a conference recently where these matters were
aired. Afterwards, many, from different churches, voiced their surprise and disappointment with “Why didn’t our leaders
tell us? How could they fall for this?”
Yes, pray for Todd and his family. But pray for the misguided
and misinformed innocents in the pews. I hope they are still there.
Thanks Deptford Dan. Maybe our leaders didn’t warn us because they didn’t want to seem ‘critical’.
Brainy41 – your comment about the truth outliving a lie is extremely apt. Indeed it’s the very point of this blog post. The promise of prophecied revival was a lie. And the truth can be seen by all – there is no revival. That’s not pointless, jealous, uninformed criticism. It is fact.
The word revival can be a confusing term because the translators do not use it in scripture and it means different things to different people. The last days will include many different “revival type” events that fit into God’s entire blueprint. What “WE” call revival may indeed be scriptural, and yet God may simply want to adjust our focus to see the rest of His blueprint.
Acts 2:12-21
And they all continued in amazement and great perplexity, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” But others were mocking and saying, “They are full of sweet wine. “But Peter, taking his stand with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them: “Men of Judea, and all you who live in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give heed to my words. “For these men are not drunk, as you suppose, for it is {only} the third hour of the day; but this is what was spoken of through the prophet Joel: ‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says, ‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Even upon My bondslaves, both men and women, I will in those days pour forth of My Spirit And they shall prophesy. ‘And I will grant wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath, Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke. ‘The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord shall come. ‘And it shall be, that everyone who calls on shall be saved. (NAS)
This is a description of the first revival, though it is not called revival. In scripture it is called “a pouring forth of God’s Spirit”. Therefore our base definition for revival must remain the same. Afterwards we have the revival manifestations. In this first revival meeting it was first made evident by the believers openly speaking in tongues. We must note that the unbelievers outnumbered the believing “tongue talkers” by a considerable amount; in other words there were many unsaved listening to the 120 believers speaking in tongues – it was not solely a believers meeting. Some of those in the multitude were amazed and some of them – mocked. Peter preaches an anointed message from heaven and then 3,000 people get saved. Therefore in the first revival service we see manifestations of the gifts of the Spirit; then the Word preached with fire and revelation; and then unbelievers getting saved. At this stage we are simply going to scripture to find out what was recorded as “being revival”. Church history is not where we should learn about such matters, scripture is our source for revival.
Revival therefore is well underway across the world. Many Christians and many churches are continuing to see PEOPLE GETTING SAVED!!! BLESS GOD THAT IS TRUE REVIVAL!
Brainy41 – thanks for your comments. The first was taken verbatim from a book called “An Enemy Called Average” by John L Mason. John’s website is http://www.freshword.com. He’s a motivational ’speaker and minister’. I assume he means a ‘Minister of Christ’ but you have to look very hard on his website to find any mention of Jesus, or anything even approaching the Gospel. I’ve skimmed through the book. It’s largely the kind of motivational twaddle I’ve heard in business, repackaged for a religious audience.
Your second quote is another direct copy. This time from a publication called ‘Temple Builders – The High Calling’ by John Robert Lucas – http://www.templebuilders.com. This looks like a more promising book and I’m making my way through it.
The only bit you seem to have written yourself is the sentence ‘Revival therefore is well underway across the world..’ – please could you explain how you can deduce this from what Mr Lucas wrote?
AT LEAST DARREL STOTT IS OUT THERE IN THE MISSION FIELD GETTING ON WITH THE JOB. HE MAY NOT BE AS PERFECT AS THE OWNER OF THIS BLOG! HOWEVER, HE IS SEEING MANY SAVED. WE MAY SIT IN THE COMFORT OF OUR OFFICES CRITICIZING HIM BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING? WHEN IS THE LAST TIME WE SHARED THE GOSPEL AND LED SOMEONE TO CHRIST? THAT IS WHAT TRUE REVIVAL IS ABOUT. GO DARREL GO! GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU CARRY THE GOSPEL AROUND THE WORLD AND SEE MANY MAKE A DECISION FOR CHRIST.
God uses people despite our imperfections

KEEP GOING DARREL STOTT!!! KEEP GOING!!!
Darrel E Stott Ministries:
Intercessors around the world prayed for 40 years for the nations to be open to the Gospel of Jesus! God answered their prayers! That is why Darrel Stott travels for almost 11 months a year around the world actively involved in 17 countries! Now thousands are giving their lives to Jesus!
In 1997 Darrel said “It is not fair that the poor of the world cannot hear of Jesus Christ because they have no money! He put his expenses on his VISA CARD and went on his first missions trip. God provided the finances to pay the VISA and Darrel launched his international Missions Ministry.
Whatever need or problem you are facing; there is a solution in the person of JESUS CHRIST!
A not unexpected outburst from Brainy41.
For other readers, you may be interested to know that ‘Darrel’s’ comments come from the same IP address (ie. the same computer) as Brainy41’s.
When have I ever implied that I believe myself to be better than anyone else, let alone perfect. I have been brutally honest about my weaknesses and failures in this very blog.
Unlike some.
To return to my original point. Darrel’s prophecy has not come true. Plain and simple.
